Metastasis

Concept for the adoption of the name: metastasis (from the Greek metástatis=change of place, to transfer), is the formation of a tumor from another one, but with no continuity between them. This implies that the neoplastic cells come off from the primary tumor, walking through the interstitium – this way they make a way of propagation – being taken to a distant local to start a new neoplastic colony.

Metastasis and sodality (when sodality comes to a place it generates – or must generate-concept, identification, a voice against injustice…): to make available a place with space for the manifestation and discussion of tendencies, needs, individual and collective desires.

How? Through music festivals, workshops of arts, lectures, discusson groups, seminars, exhibition of movies, videos and other ways to express and interact.

Where? With the focus on urban missions, the city and the place of operation must answer to this proposal, and from this, the project can be executed in anywhere.

when? The project’s minimum time of execution is six months.

Who? All those who want to undertake new expretions of sodality. All the projects and ministries from YWAM-DF with all of our staff team will be directly involved with metastasis.

Metastasis

Establish missionary fronts. We believe and work in the Lord, so that in a future not so far Distrito Federal might be known by serving and sending missionaries to Brazilian States and countries in the world. We believe this is the best way to honor and redeem the spiritual reality and image of the Capital of our contry.

Global goal

To establish temporary missionary bases with the minimum of six months in each place. In cities that don’t have missionay expressions or that doesn’t have information and opportunities available to fulfill the calling in God’s work. This will be a partneship with local churches.

Specific Goal

To mobilize and train Christian people with actual tools and strategies for local evangelism and multiplier discipleship.

Methodology

Establish night schools (STD – School of traning for Disci), adressing the main themes about the mission’s full disciple trainig. Intensive programming of evangelism with missionary teams that come from other States and countries in partnership with local churches. Missionary and evangelistic services. Short-term workshops. Missionary conferences. Art workshop.

Justification

In Brazilian Christian scene we have a great orgnized structure in which God has been blessing us in the last decades. The real situation could make possible in terms of human and material resources our nation to be a great missionary power, able to impact many nations with the gospel’s testimony. However, we are whom much of the real potential we have in God (check the data attached). In this expectation we are strugling to  establish YWAM’s base in Distrito Federal, so that from our faith, attending to the calling of the Lord Jesus, we participate on the awakening of the brazilian church for missions, rescuing its reason of existence. As a  short-term strategy, it’s an excellent tool for the multiplication of the vision and trainig of staff for local churches. This way we can attend the needs of : many locations in a normal year work.

The biggest missionary countries in the world: USA (90 million of Christians – 60.200 missionaries), South Korea (15 million of Christians – 12.000 missionaries), United Kingdom (25.000 million of Christians – 10.000 missionaries), Canada (4 million of Christians – 7.794 missoinaries), Brazil (40 million of Christians – 4.754 missionaries), Nigeria (17 million of Christians – 4.000 missionaries).

Expectations

Through the missionary fronts we expect a significant change in the actual scene, not only in the local church but also in Distrito Federal and Brazil. A real envolvement with missions and the formation of a generation of leaders that will make the difference in the Kingdom.
